Speech & Debate

The Godley High School Speech & Debate Team develops confident communicators, critical thinkers and effective leaders through competition in University Interscholastic League (UIL) academic events. Students compete in a variety of individual and team events, including Cross-Examination Debate, Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Student Congress, Informative Speaking, Persuasive Speaking, Prose Interpretation and Poetry Interpretation. Through research, public speaking, analysis and performance, team members strengthen their communication skills, build confidence and prepare for success in college, careers and civic life.
