Kurtis J. Flood
Kurtis Flood became the Godley High School principal in 2019.
A native of Hereford, Flood earned a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from West Texas A&M University, where he graduated magna cum laude and received the Edna Graham Award from the university math department. He received a Master of Education in educational leadership from Texas A&M University-Commerce. Honor society membership included Alpha Chi and Gamma Bet Phi.
With almost 20 years in public education, Flood began his career teaching math at Mesquite High School. Flood later served as assistant principal at Venus Middle School for three years and as founding principal at Arlington Classics Academy Middle School for seven years before coming to Godley.
At GHS, Flood has received the Godley FFA Appreciation Award and the Texas Music Educators Association Distinguished Administrator Award.
Flood previously was youth minister at Highland Oaks Church of Christ and also drove a school bus while in college.
He and his wife, Angela, have three sons - Camden, Briggs, and Hayden - who attend Godley schools.
Flood volunteers at Burleson Church of Christ, where he is a deacon for the college and young professional ministry and also a teacher for numerous youth and adult classes.
In his spare time, Flood enjoys spending time with his family, reading, watching football, and eating great barbecue.
